Auburn basketball: Tigers not discouraged by #2 AP Poll ranking

As of this morning, Auburn basketball’s three-week reign as the #1 team in the country is over (for now). After a tough loss in overtime on the road to the red-hot Arkansas Razorbacks, the Tigers dropped from #1 to #2 behind Gonzaga.

However, the season is not over yet, and the Tigers and their fanbase are not discouraged by dropping down to #2. Why? With several difficult road tests left on the SEC schedule and a close race for the SEC regular-season title with the Kentucky Wildcats, a drop in the rankings gives Auburn basketball something to play for.

There’s no doubt that the athletes will be determined to get their #1 crowns back, and a resounding victory over Texas A&M last Saturday was only the beginning. As for Auburn basketball fans, a #2 ranking is still pretty good in their books:

On the flip side, while Tiger fans are okay with Auburn basketball having a little extra motivation, they are absolutely relentless in slamming Gonzaga for being #1 with such a weak schedule:

With only a few games left before the SEC tournament, there’s no doubt that Auburn basketball is still on an upward trajectory, and they’re not finished yet.
