Transfer WR Option #3: Chase Cota

A former 4-star prospect out of Oregon, Chase Cota arrived at UCLA in the class of 2018. A four-year starter for the Bruins, Cota was counted as one of the most reliable pass-catchers in blue and gold and played in every single game during his time at UCLA.

As a true freshman in 2018, Cota recorded 18 receptions for 286 yards and one touchdown. He started in one game that season and was credited with two tackles on special teams. The wide receiver logged 25 receptions for 350 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. He earned three starts and caught multiple passes for over 20 yards on the season.

The Bruins played only seven games in 2020 due to COVID-19, and Cota started in five of them. He recorded 11 catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns with a season-high five catches in a single game.

This past season, Cota was credited for 18 catches for 286 yards and one touchdown, his longest catch being for 45 yards. According to All Bruins, Cota ranked second or third on the team in receptions all four years.

With his impressive resume, Chase Cota would be an incredible asset to Auburn football’s wide receiver room in 2022.
