Auburn football: Landing Arch Manning visit should be top 2022 goal
While Auburn football’s quarterback room is currently stacked heading into spring practices with five guys competing for the coveted QB1 role, the Tigers’ staff is already looking ahead to the recruiting class of 2023.
The number one recruit in the 2023 class is quarterback Arch Manning, son of Cooper Manning and member of the elite Manning football family. While Manning has eliminated the Clemson Tigers from his list of potential schools, 247 Sports indicates that reports claiming the quarterback has narrowed down his options to only two schools are false.
Manning is considering Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Ole Miss after visiting the programs over the summer and returning for games in the fall, but Steve Wiltfong writes that due to coaching changes at LSU and Florida, two more SEC schools are now in the mix for Manning:
"The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Manning still has a keen eye on Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas, schools he visited during the summer and returned for games during the fall. It’s a good bet that those four plus the twosome of LSU and Florida will get Manning on campus in the spring or summer."
After surviving a university investigation and coming out on top as the leader of the Auburn football program, one of Bryan Harsin’s top goals for 2022 should be getting Arch Manning on campus for a visit.
With the 2023 QB already planning to travel to so many SEC programs nearby, it’s possible that the Tigers could convince Manning to step foot on the Plains and see what Auburn football is all about.
Arch Manning threw for 1,947 yards and 26 touchdowns in addition to seven rushing touchdowns as a junior, and in his career as a three-year starter has thrown for 6,307 yards and 81 touchdowns with an additional 19 rushing touchdowns.
While it may be a long shot to get Arch Manning in orange and blue, it should be a priority to at least get him on campus and pitch the program to the 2023 QB.
