The staff of the Auburn football have been hitting the recruiting trail hard for the class of 2023 and offers have been going out left and right. With many wide receivers hitting the transfer portal during this offseason, fans should be excited about the Tigers’ latest offer.
Roc Bellantoni was recently added to head coach Bryan Harsin’s year two staff as a defensive analyst, and he has wasted no time in recruiting talent to Auburn football’s 2023 roster. Bellantoni most recently offered a 4-star wide receiver from South Florida after a conversation with the prospect.
William Fowles, a native of Hialeah, Florida, and a current student at Dade Christian School is currently listed as the #39 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2023 and the #58 recruit out of the state of Florida.
Fowles already has 25 offers from programs around the country, including Michigan State, Ole Miss, Florida, Texas A&M, UCF, and Tennessee, among others. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Fowles is currently favored to choose in-state UCF, but it’s still early.
Auburn Live reports that as a junior, Fowles had 36 receptions for 807 yards and nine touchdowns in just nine games for Dade Christian. Fowles recently showed off his talent at the Under Armour Next All-America Game camp in Miami, taking home the wide receiver MVP honors from the event staff, per The Grove Report.
Fowles told the same publication that early on in his recruitment he’s favoring the Ole Miss Rebels and the Michigan State Spartans:
"“I’ve been talking to Ole Miss and Michigan State,” he said. “Ole Miss is a good program, I like Lane Kiffin’s offensive scheme. He likes to throw the ball deep all the time. It’s a good scheme for me, it’s a good fit for me. I think that would be a good fit for me.”"
Auburn football is in real need of talented wide receivers, and the coaches should keep pushing Fowles to visit the Plains and consider wearing orange and blue in 2023.
