If you don’t believe Auburn football will rebound from a losing season in 2021, Tiger fans may just bully you into believing they will.

Auburn Wire found that out the hard way in sharing a prediction for the 2022 season just how fiery the Auburn family gets if you’re prognosticating what would be the least successful season in a decade.

AW’s Patrick Conn has the Tigers going 4-8 in 2022, with their wins coming against FCS Mercer opening week, San Jose State Week 2, Mizzou Week 4, and Western Kentucky Week 12.

The 0-6 SEC West prediction, coupled with a loss to Penn State, was the primary source of ire for those that took to social media to voice their displeasure with the prognostication:

Truthfully, Auburn football doesn’t deserve a forecast of many more wins than that. At this point in time, the program is most notable for the off-field issues that engulfed the Plains in early February than any recruiting success. In fact, recruiting has sputtered this calendar year after a strong 2021 Early National Signing Day period.

That said, the SEC is a fickle beast, and any sports bettor knows that nailing down every week’s slate is an almost impossible endeavor. Auburn could easily upset the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, and Arkansas at home.

Assuming the Tigers would even be underdogs by the time those matchups roll around.

Cronn made early predictions that he may not even agree with after witnessing the upcoming A-Day intrasquad scrimmage on April 9th. You had to know a swift and violent response was coming from a fanbase known for making opposing basketball social media coordinators dread their job following an Auburn win on the hardwood.
