While the staff of Auburn football has been working hard on recruiting prospects from the class of 2023, they are still keeping their eyes on the NCAA transfer portal to fill out the roster for this fall.

Just this week, head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff have extended offers to two former Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in hopes of turning them into Tigers for the fall of 2022.

Edge Jordan Domineck hit the transfer portal last Friday, and by Monday morning he had an offer from Auburn football to add to his list that includes programs like UCF, Penn State, Arkansas, Iowa State, and more. Domineck visited the Plains during his original recruitment process in high school but plans to make a return trip to Auburn’s campus in March.

According to Auburn Live, the edge has spoken to Roc Bellantoni–the man that would be his new position coach–along with Darren Uscher and Bryan Harsin, and he sees himself calling the Plains home:

"“I talked to all of them,” Domineck said. “They were telling me how well I could fit in their scheme. They love the way I work, run to the ball, hustle and play with a lot of energy. They feel like they could use that there.”"

Jordan Domineck would classify as a grad transfer and have two years of eligibility remaining.

Another former Yellow Jacket that recently received an offer from Auburn football is defensive lineman Michael Lockhart. The DL spoke with Harsin and new defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh prior to being offered, and as an Alabama native, he values the Auburn opportunity as a home-state offer.

With three years of eligibility remaining, Lockhart plans to make his visits in March and a final decision in April, choosing from a plethora of programs including Virginia Tech, UAB, Western Kentucky, and Jacksonville State, per Auburn Live.

The experience of both of these Georgia Tech transfers would bring a lot to the Auburn football roster in the fall of 2022.
