Potential Auburn basketball March Madness hero #2: Zep Jasper

It’s not often that Zep Jasper puts up a ton of shots in the Tigers backcourt. That’s what Wendell Green Jr. and K.D. Johnson are for.

But when he does, he has proven to be a highly efficient weapon from the field that makes opponents pay for double-teaming Jabari Smith.

Jasper has three double-digit scoring outings on the year, and in those outings, he was a flamethrower from beyond the arc. His first double-digit game was in Tampa against USF and he made his only 3-point attempt. In a 10-point effort against Yale, he went 2-2. He made both his long-range attempts against South Carolina as well, scoring 13 points in Columbia.

His crowning effort came against Ole Miss this past Wednesday, making four of his five 3-pointers. If he can replicate that at any point after March 5th in 2021-22, he’ll become a legend on the Plains.

Potential Auburn basketball March Madness hero #3: Dylan Cardwell

Dylan Cardwell becomes a hero this March for one primary potential reason: Walker Kessler’s foul trouble.

Kessler is the kingpin of the Tigers’ defense, so if he could be benched for an extended period and the rim-protection remained steady, Cardwell has the fast-track to hero status.
