Auburn football: 4-star 2023 OL developing strong relationship with HC
Since the Auburn football program is returning nearly all of its offensive linemen from last season, the coaching staff is looking ahead of the 2022 roster to the recruiting class of 2023 for talent in the trenches.
The Tigers’ sole commit to the class of 2023 is an offensive lineman, 4-star Bradyn Joiner out of Auburn High School, and head coach Bryan Harsin’s staff is looking to add more big OL like Joiner. One of those recruits on their radar is another 4-star in Madden Sanker out of Douglasville, GA.
Sanker is currently listed as the #3 inside offensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #6 recruit out of the state of Georgia. He has upwards of 20 offers already, including offers from Georgia, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miami, and Auburn.
Just this weekend he was named one of the top performers at the prestigious Under Armour Next Football Camp in Atlanta:
The Auburn football staff is working hard to pursue Madden Sanker and make it known that he is a priority for the Tigers, and according to Auburn Undercover, Sanker has developed a strong relationship not only with offensive line coach Will Friend but also with head coach Bryan Harsin:
"“I talk to (offensive line coach Will) Friend a lot, too, but I talk to Coach Harsin the most (at Auburn). I talk to them probably on a weekly basis, just to touch base, talk about what’s going on.“I think he’s a great football coach,” Sanker said. “He knows what he’s doing. He wants to build up the line really good. He knows that’s the base of the offense.. I think he’s a great guy.”"
With Harsin so involved in Sanker’s recruitment, it’s clear that he is one of the Tigers’ top targets in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Sanker will likely visit Auburn’s campus sometime this spring and hopes to have a decision made by the end of the summer.
