The best bet for Auburn basketball to win the regular-season SEC Championship is winning out because Georgia and Ole Miss did the Tigers no favors last night in their respective losses to Tennessee and at Kentucky.

The Vols have Arkansas coming to town on Saturday, which should be a pick ’em. Kentucky has a visit to the O’Connell Center in Gainesville to meet the Gators in their regular-season finale.

Tonight, step one of the 1-2 punch clincher takes place in Starkville, Mississippi. The Bulldogs come into this one as winners of three of their last four, with the lone loss against AU’s Saturday foe, South Carolina. Missouri (2x) and Vanderbilt were the wins.

Auburn hasn’t lost two in a row all season but has now lost two of their last three, with both downfalls coming on the road.

Can Bruce Pearl get his guys in order or will the last Saturday of the SEC hoops season be ruled by anarchy?

The #3 Tigers visit the 17-12 Bulldogs tonight at 9PM EST on ESPN. WynnBET has the Tigers as 3.5-point favorites (bet $100 to win $100) while the over-under is set at 139.5.

It’d cause great pain to the Auburn family to see the Tigers go down on the road on Wednesday night. SEC conference play guarantees nothing, though, even for the top teams in the conference.

This year has seen incredible parity, with Florida being a great microcosm for the conference as a whole. The Gators own losses to Texas A&M and Ole Miss yet defeated Auburn and a South Carolina team getting hot at the right time right now.

The spread is low enough to have confidence in it being covered should the Tigers break bad road habits and close their away slate successfully. Give us the Auburn -3.5 point spread.

It’d be quite the heartbreaker if the spread wasn’t covered, though. A loss would be even more devastating…
