Auburn basketball has five wins separating them from their first NCAA March Madness tournament victory in school history.

The fourth-to-last obstacle will be Miami, who narrowly avoided elimination with a win against the higher-seeded USC Trojans on Friday. The Hurricanes used a dominant first half–holding the Trojans to just eight field goals and forcing 12 USC turnovers—to survive and advance to the Round of 32.

AU was given all they can handle and more in the first half of their Round of 64 win against Jacksonville State, but they withstood the early storm and found a way to cover the spread in the closing moments.

Jabari Smith also threw down the ‘One Shining Moment’ montage-worthy poster dunk on the Gamecocks that will live on for the rest of time in March Madness lure.

Auburn is rolling, but overlooking the U would be a huge mistake. Miami owns conference wins over UNC, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech this past season.

Auburn basketball vs Miami: Spread, Over/Under

The Midwest Region #2 seed Tigers take on the 24-10 Hurricanes Sunday at 7:45PM EST on truTV. WynnBET has the Tigers as 7.5-point favorites (bet $110 to win $100) while the over-under is set at 145.

Auburn vs Miami Prediction

Bruce Pearl’s assessment of Miami tends to make me think that this one will be razor-thin:

"Miami’s a great team. They’ve got great guards, well coached. It’s going to be a tough opponent. They’re going to come out ready to play. They’re underdogs right now, and we know it’s going to be a good game tomorrow."

Now, the question is whether or not this one is a high-scoring affair or not. Miami’s defensive weaknesses has us leaning towards the total points over 145 (-110) as the pick.
