Auburn baseball traveled to College Station, Texas, this weekend to take on their second SEC opponent of the season in the Texas A&M Aggies. The three-game series between the Tigers and the Aggies was split heading into the third game of the weekend with Auburn baseball taking the opener and falling to Texas A&M in round two on Saturday.

Both teams battled hard in the final game of the series, with the Aggies going up ahead of the Tigers 3-0 in the first inning. Auburn answered quickly and tied it up in the second inning before TAMU went up by another three runs only for the Tigers to tie things up again at 6-6 in the third.

The close score continued into the sixth inning with an 8-8 tie before Auburn baseball began to pull away and ultimately closed out the game with a 13-9 victory and a series win against an SEC opponent on the road.

With basketball season over, Tiger fans have turned their attention to baseball and softball, and fans were eager to congratulate Butch Thompson and his team on their big win:

The victory marks the Tigers’ first series win in conference play. Auburn baseball’s next matchup will take place on the Plains this Tuesday as the Tigers prepare to host the Jacksonville State Gamecocks at 6:00 p.m. The next conference series will take place in Baton Rouge next weekend when the Tigers hit the road again to take on LSU.
