The Auburn football annual A-Day spring game is fast approaching, with only one more Saturday until Jordan-Hare Stadium opens its doors for the first time in 2022.

Excitement is at a fever pitch with the return of major contributors across the defense. Especially since it seemed not long ago that an inquiry into Auburn football HC Bryan Harsin could cause an exodus from the Plains by way of the transfer portal.

That’s almost ancient history now, though. If you haven’t heard, this Tigers team is quite different from the one that turned a 6-2 record into a 6-7 record just a season ago.

Harsin just said as much himself:

"“We didn’t like the way we finished; nobody did,” Harsin said. “That’s the key; if you’re going to make a run, you’re going to play for something at the end of the year, you have to finish…. We’ve got to take what we learned from that and apply it to what we’re doing moving forward. If you’re trying to get further, and you’re trying to move along and improve and get there faster, then you need to have people that will actually follow,” Harsin said."

It’s a new era, and included in that new era is a renewed recruiting push following a winter of bad headlines.

As A-Day nears and then passes by, these 3 positions of need are expected to be addressed ahead of the fall:

The offensive line is the most experienced position group on the offense, but there have been protection issues for the past several seasons.

Tiger fans are far from smitten with Will Friend as a whole, but Joe Bernardi will be joining the staff and comes with SEC experience from his days (2013-2015) on Rocky Top.
