As one of the stars of the 2022 Auburn football recruiting cycle and now a recruiting savant for the hoops program, international JUCO sensation Jeffrey M’Ba, wants his infinity stone.
Okay, so context. The Independence Community College transfer–dubbed by himself and his peers as ‘Thanos–apparently had a huge hand in the victory of Bruce Pearl’s Auburn basketball program. Talk about getting value on a scholarship across the board.
Fellow Frenchman Yohan Traore chose the Plains as his next stop after the coach he committed to, recently fired LSU HC Will Wade, was dismissed from the program in connection with a legal investigation into his time on the Bayou.
Here’s what M’Ba had to say about it, via his Twitter page:
He had a very interesting tweet about the French city of Tours as well…
M’Ba comes to the Tigers as the primary backup to Montgomery product and Kansas transfer Marcus Harris at DT. He earned the nickname ‘Thanos’ in the wake of the path of destruction it took to become the #1 JUCO transfer in the country.
As for Traore, the six-foot-10 Class of 2022 stud is going to be filling a void left by the impending departure of projected top NBA Draft pick, Jabari Smith. Traore is the second-highest ranked recruit in the history of the program behind Smith.
The Frenchman’s arrival could make Pearl go back on his word that the program would be aiming to build around Jaylin Williams in 2022-23. Then again, that probably hinges on the decision to declare to the draft or not that’s coming for Walker Kessler as well.
Either way, it appears as though M’Ba is going to contribute for Auburn football HC Bryan Harsin, Auburn basketball HC Bruce Pearl, and subsequently, all of Auburn in the process.
