The Auburn football coaching staff is working hard to build up the recruiting class of 2023, but they’ll take a break from their road tripping this weekend to host several recruits on campus. The Tigers continue to get top prospects on the Plains, and hopefully it will pay off in the 2023 season.

The first of the Tigers’ expected visitors is 5-star defensive back Tony Mitchell. The in-state cornerback from Thompson High School is ranked as the #20 overall prospect and the #3 CB in the recruiting class of 2023 in addition to being the #3 recruit out of the state of Alabama.

Mitchell visited the campuses of Alabama and Texas A&M for their respective spring games, and has also taken recent trips to Georgia and Florida. This weekend’s visit with Auburn football will be his first since last fall. Though the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predicts Mitchell to end up with the Crimson Tide, Bryan Harsin and the Tigers are not going down without a fight.

Another prospect making his way to Auburn’s campus this weekend is 4-star defensive lineman Jordan Hall. From Jacksonville, FL, Hall is ranked as the #212 overall prospect and the #30 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 and the #42 recruit out of the state of Florida.

In late March, Hall narrowed down his potential schools to 12 programs, and Auburn football was not included on his list. However, he noted that his recruitment is 100 percent open, and this weekend’s visit to the Plains could definitely change things for the lineman.

Hall recently visited Florida and Miami, was present for junior day at Florida State, and has also been on Alabama’s campus. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball has the DL ultimately ending up at FSU, but with all the visits he has been taking it is truly too soon to know where he will officially land.
