Auburn football has spent this year’s recruiting cycle courting some of the top prospects in the recruiting class of 2023, from the state of Alabama but also from across the country. Two prospects that play on either side of the line of scrimmage have set official visits to the Plains in the upcoming summer months.

The first is 3-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett, who is ranked as the #387 overall prospect and the #51 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #13 player out of the state of North Carolina.

According to Auburn Live, Jarrett worked hard for his offer from Auburn football, following the Tigers’ defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh on Twitter and messaging him about his interest in playing for the Tigers. Brumbaugh watched his film, got him on the phone, and extended the offer in February.

Jarrett is interested in joining his close friend Enyce Sledge–a class of 2022 defensive line signee–on the Plains in 2023, and will take an official visit with Auburn football during the first weekend of June.

Another key recruit that has set an official visit to Auburn is 4-star inside offensive lineman Ryqueeze McElderry, who is currently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs. McElderry is ranked as the #489 overall prospect and the #32 IOL in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #27 recruit out of the state of Alabama.

Despite his commitment to the Dawgs, McElderry has spent a lot of time on the Plains visiting last summer, attending a game in the fall, making it to campus in both January and March, and watching a spring practice, most recently.

McElderry has spoken very highly of the Tigers throughout his recruitment, and has now set an official visit for May 27-29. Also interesting to note is that McElderry is the cousin of Auburn football’s first commit to the class of 2023, offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner.
