With a mostly-new coaching staff firmly cemented on the Plains, head coach Bryan Harsin is sending recruiting efforts into overdrive in his second year at the helm of the Auburn football program. The Tigers have lured many top prospects to campus for visits, but the true results will not come until prospects begin committing to AU.

While personnel changes are not always a good thing when it comes to recruiting, the new coaching staff has earned the opportunity to get back in the mix for 4-star edge Tomarrion Parker. Ranked as the #82 overall prospect and the #9 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023, the Central High Schooler is also ranked as the #9 recruit out of the state of Alabama.

Parker was not always considering Auburn football as an option, and released a top five in early February that excluded the Tigers and included Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, Tennessee, and Ohio State instead. However, Parker insists that now the Tigers are back in the mix, per Auburn Live:

"“I talked to Coach (Bryan) Harsin and we talked things out, our differences and things like that,” Parker said. “And then Coach (Jimmy) Brumbaugh came and watched me practice. Ever since then, it’s like a switched flipped on at Auburn. They are doing a great job of recruiting me.”"

The 4-star prospect is in frequent communication with defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh and edge coach Roc Bellantoni:

"“Coach Brumbaugh calls me all the time,” Parker said. “All. The. Time. Coach calls my mom and dad, my defensive line coach, my head coach. He don’t play. He is on me hard.”"

Though he has been on campus several times before, Parker has not been to the Plains since November, and another trip is expected to be in the works soon now that he is strongly considering playing for Auburn football.
