Ask an Auburn football fan if Jalen Hurts is a true Alabama man, and they’ll say the 2020 second-round NFL Draft pick was actually an Oklahoma Sooner.
Ahead of tonight’s draft, the roles are reversed when talking about Malik Willis and whether or not he is a true Auburn man.
Willis could go as high as the No. 6 pick (to the Carolina Panthers) tonight, and Tiger fans are having fun with the fact that he rocked orange and blue once upon a time. Alabama fans are not letting them claim that, though, and it became an all-out Twitter war, like most conversations on the bird app do.
Check out the back-and-forth between R*ll Tide Nation and the Auburn family that took place earlier on NFL Draft day, with some heavy sarcasm from the AU side going over the heads of the fans up north:
The same Alabama fans who talk up Jalen Hurts like he never played for Oklahoma will be the first who get mad over Auburn Legend Malik Willis getting drafted top 10

I’d agree, I love Jalen Hurts…my favorite Oklahoma QB of all time.

You really don’t see the difference?

One played, led his team to a SEC championship, got beat out at his position, graduated, and then transferred.
The other did nothing to contribute to his former team before leaving as he wasn’t given a chance.

Of course, Willis’ 14 pass attempts on the Plains don’t quite compare to Jalen Hurts’ run to the National Championship game or his comeback in the 2018 SEC Championship game to replace Tua Tagovailoa as the starter and knock off Georgia.
The Famblee(TM) was just having fun, though. Roger McCreary is the actual potential first-round pick the Auburn football faithful will actually be pulling for during the NFL Draft.
