Auburn basketball fans had a ton of fun with the news that former Tiger Justin Powell was already transferring from Tennessee after just one season on Rocky Top. Of course, this follows a one-year stint on the Plains, where Powell supposedly had concussion issues keeping him out of the lineup.
Many fans had speculated about what happened during his time with the Auburn basketball, even going as far as to say the Prospect, Kentucky product had gotten into an extra-curricular altercation at a certain three-floor bar on Magnolia Ave across from campus.
Well, we don’t know what happened in Knoxville, but it’s clear that Powell’s claim to want more competition has come back to bite the guard–who saw his minutes get slashed in half from 27.6 per game with the Tigers to 14 per game with the Volunteers–in the behind.
Here were some of the best Auburn basketball fan reactions to the news of Powell’s second transfer in as many years:
Looking for somewhere with some competition

I'd like to announce the inauguration of the annual Justin Powell "the Grass is Always Greener" Award to the most transfer-happy player in college basketball. Be on the lookout for nominees this time next year. https://t.co/Qz1TswXos3

Powell will have to sit out the 2022-23 season, per NCAA transfer portal rules. He has already used his one-time immediate eligibility transfer.
Fly War Eagle wishes Mr. Powell luck wherever he lands next.
