Auburn football pursuing UCLA transfer edge Odua Isibor
With spring training coming to an end and the transfer portal deadline of May 1 looming ahead on the horizon, the Auburn football coaching staff is scouring the transfer portal for talent to add to the 2022-23 roster.
The Tigers have added several transfers to the roster already prior to spring training, including quarterbacks Zach Calzada (Texas A&M) and Robby Ashford (Oregon) along with cornerback DJ James (Oregon), defensive lineman Jayson Jones (Oregon), and linebacker Eugene Asante (North Carolina).
However, the Tigers’ coaching staff is not finished yet when it comes to shopping the portal, and the latest offer has been extended to UCLA transfer edge Odua Isibor. A 3-star prospect out of Phoenix, Arizona, Isidor spent five seasons with the Bruins and will have one year of eligibility left following his transfer.
Though he did not see any game action his true freshman year, he became a key Bruin on the field the following four years, racking up 56 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. The 2021 season was arguably his best out of his time at UCLA, and he put up 14 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks for 21 yards, and one forced fumble.
The edge will be on campus visiting Auburn football this week, staying from Thursday, April 28 until Saturday, April 30, per Auburn Live, after entering the transfer portal just last week. Should Isidor choose to become a Tiger, he would add depth and experience to Jimmy Brumbaugh’s defensive line position group.
