Auburn football: Where every Tiger ended up after 2022 NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft has come and gone, and Auburn football, like every draft since 1976, was represented with a selection.
Unlike most years, however, it was a light class. How light? Well, Roger McCreary–who was selected with the No. 35 pick by the Titans–was the lone Tiger to hear his name called this past weekend. McCreary could compete with Caleb Farley for starter minutes on a franchise that isn’t too far a drive for Tiger fans in the northern half of Alabama and throughout Tennessee.
That fact has caused an uproar on Auburn Twitter, with Justin Lee of the Opelika-Auburn News blaming Bryan Harsin and his coaching staff for the lack of a draft class akin to Georgia’s 15-man group.
Brian Stultz of Auburn Rivals disagreed with that sentiment, while also pointing out that AU had more selections than just one SEC school:
Auburn football sent 5 Tigers to the pros during 2022 NFL Draft weekend
Despite AU’s sole selection being McCreary during the draft, Auburn still sent five pros to the NFL during draft weekend.
Zakoby McClain on the Ravens is an incredible fit, while Smoke Monday choosing the Saints over the Jets cost the world the chance to see a Smoke-Sauce DB combo with Ahmad Gardner, New York’s No. 3 overall pick. Chandler Wooten joined a potential riser in Arizona, with Kyler Murray reuniting with his Oklahoma receiving mate Marquise Brown, and T.D. Moultry joins a legendary Steelers culture that could see its first rebuilding season since before Ben Roethlisberger was in town.
