Following a disappointing defeat Friday night that followed a 5-0 lead, Auburn baseball took the lead in the bottom of the eighth on Saturday for game 2 against the Arkansas Razorbacks and never looked back, finishing on top 5-3.

After suffering an 11-8 loss at the hands of the bullpen Friday, it was reliever Carson Swilling that picked up the win after two hitless innings in the eighth and ninth innings to close the door on the Hogs and knot the series at one apiece.

PH Mason Land’s suicide squeeze in the bottom of the eighth broke a 3-3 tie created by Brooks Carlson’s seventh-inning home-run. Cole Foster’s sacrifice fly to center was the fifth and final run of the game, one Fly War Eagle was on hand for.

Tiger fans were elated at the upset over #4 Arkansas:

The win snapped a 1-3 skid that included a series loss to Tennessee last weekend. After Sunday’s series finale against Arkansas, Auburn baseball has a pair of SEC series’ and a pair of standalone games against in-state opponents.

A Tuesday matchup at Troy precedes a series at home vs. Alabama. That’ll be the final series of the season at Plainsman Park. After that, AU travels to Hoover to take on Samford, and finishes the regular season in Lexington against Kentucky.
