Since the end of Auburn football’s spring training and the beginning of the “Tiger Takeover” recruiting strategy, the coaching staff has locked in visit dates for many top prospects across the state of Alabama and the rest of the country.
Recently, one of the top prospects in Alabama set a date for his official visit on campus. 4-star defensive lineman Hunter Osborne of Hewitt-Trussville will make his way to the Plains this summer on June 10-12.
Osborne is ranked as the #128 overall recruit and the #17 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 in addition to being the #12 recruit out of the state of Alabama. Though Osborne released a list of his top 10 choices back in March, and the Tigers were on that list, the DL continues to receive offers form top programs.
The in-state recruit has been on campus twice, once for last year’s Iron Bowl and once in late March of this year, and spoke about how hard the staff, primarily head coach Bryan Harsin and defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh, are recruiting him, per Auburn Undercover:
"“I mean, on a scale of 1 to 10 it was about a 15. They just made me feel really wanted and I really did appreciate that. It felt like home. All the coaches they have on staff, they’re showing they really want me.”“(Defensive line coach Jimmy) Brumbaugh and Coach (Bryan Harsin),” Osborne said. “Coach Harsin texts me every day. Me and Coach Brumbaugh, we have a great relationship. He’s good at developing players to the next level. His pedigree shows that. I like how we talk about how he plans to use me in the system and we talk ball. You can’t not like the guy.”"
Osborne has official visits set to both Clemson and Tennessee after his time with Auburn football, and although his recruitment is far from over it seems the Tigers are in a good spot.
