Auburn football legend Bo Jackson was recently asked about how he feels about the Tigers’ upcoming 2022 campaign.
His response didn’t provide any context on how one of the greatest RBs in the history of college football feels about the state of his alma mater. In fact, hyperbole was applied to stress how little he was paying attention to anything Auburn.
Or anything sports-related at all.
Here was Jackson’s retort when asked about his expectations for Auburn football this season:

To clarify, Jackson said he doesn’t pay much attention to sports anymore. Says all that time now goes to “being grandpa.”

Tiger fans were not enthused by this response…

Auburn football is not in a good place if Bo Jackson isn’t paying attention
Back in 2014 and 2015, Bo Jackson was on the Auburn sidelines during games against rivals Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M. It wasn’t always that Jackson had no comment on what Auburn football was up to.
That the greatest legend in the history of the program (right up there with Cam Newton) doesn’t care what is going on with the team is disappointing at best and damning at worst.
This year’s Tigers have a chance to be a ‘shield your eyes’ kind of team given their difficult schedule and mass transfer portal losses this offseason. Of course, these kinds of years to bring out the best of Auburn as well.
Let’s just hope that the 2022 Tigers give Jackson a reason to pay attention to what’s going on in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
