An Alabama troll account caught Auburn football fans by surprise, and infuriated the Crimson Tide faithful, with a take that Bo Nix is a superior QB prospect to Bryce Young.

Nix, now in line to start under center at Oregon, averaged seven wins a season for the Tigers in his three years on the Plains before graduating. Bryce Young, on the other hand, just led Alabama to an SEC Championship and National Championship game appearance in his first season as QB1. He was a freshman during the Tide’s 2020 title campaign backing up Mac Jones.

Comparing their 2021 seasons…well, there isn’t much of a comparison. Young’s completion percentage was five points higher than Nix’s and he surpassed 300 passing yards in 10 different games. Bo had one such game, his last as an Auburn Tiger.

The sentiment made by this Bammer, if by some chance said sentiment was anything resembling serious, was that Nix has a superior set of tools:

That got Auburn football fans talking, with varied responses:

Alabama fans were pissed off, and not always completely aware of the context of AU’s 2021 slate:

Former Auburn football QB Bo Nix could finish with more passing yards than Bryce Young in 2022

There’s a world of a difference between the Pac-12 and the SEC. Bo Nix will be challenged by Utah and…well, in the Pac-12, that’s it. He’ll be taking on Georgia in the season’s opening game against the defending National Champions in Atlanta.

Given the schedule, perhaps we’ll see plenty of Mississippi State repeat performances throughout the 2022 campaign, and it could lead to gaudier stats than Bryce Young, who is under a ton of pressure to adequately follow up a Heisman season in 2021.
