Former Auburn football QB Bo Nix, now tabbed as the starter for Oregon in 2022, made quite a bit of money on the Plains during the NCAA’s first season in which NIL deals were able to be negotiated by student-athletes.

Nix had several different sponsorships in 2022, including with the JBoy Show and Milo’s Tea, but figures from one of his deals–which required him to make weekly appearances for 15 minutes a session–have given us an idea of what that endorsement money looked like.

In short: a full-time job’s salary.

Here’s what ESPN’s David Hale heard from a NIL agency founder about the figures associated with the former Auburn football QB:

BroBible’s Grayson Weir broke it down even further:

"Let’s assume that Nix made $8,000 during the semester at $500 per week, for 15-minute appearances. By that math, Nix made approximately $33.33 per minute through his Name, Image and Likeness deal with this one singular media company in fall of 2021."

Bo Nix was worth the money for Auburn football

The 2021 Tigers will be defined by the several different stages of their season.

Stage one was the ups and downs of the non-conference schedule, which featured Group of Five and FCS beatdowns of inferior competition, a close loss to Penn State at their ‘White Out‘ game, and a near-loss to Georgia State at home that required T.J. Finley to save the day to avoid a 2-2 start.

Stage two was the 3-2 start to SEC play that featured Bo Nix-led wins against LSU, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. Elite Georgia and Texas A&M defenses humbled Auburn and ended any College Football Playoff hopes.

Stage three was the Mississippi State collapse, Nix’s season-ending ankle injury, and despair. The Tigers finished the season 0-3 with Finley under center and the tone of the program quickly shifted to the malaise that would consume this past offseason.

When it’s all said and done, any money spent on Nix in 2021 was worth it. He was the lone reason Auburn football fans had any hope as the conference slate progressed.
