The summer months will be extremely busy for the Auburn football coaching staff as they prepare the roster for the upcoming 2022 season and continue to recruit prospects out of the class of 2023. Many of those recruits have begun to narrow down their choices and plan official visits to get a closer look at their top programs.
One of the many prospects making the trip to the Plains this weekend for an official visit with the Tigers is in-state edge rusher Keldric Faulk from Highland Home, Alabama.
Keldric Faulk, who is listed as the #83 overall prospect and the #9 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #11 player out of the state of Alabama, has been a top target for the Tigers for a while, and will finally return to the Plains this weekend after his first visit in the spring.
Faulk referred to Auburn as one of his top schools, and speaks with secondary and associate head coach Zac Etheridge, d-line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh, and edge coach Roc Bellantoni frequently, per Auburn Undercover:
"“All those guys are pretty good dudes,” Faulk said. “Coach Zac Etheridge, he’s a real laid back, real chill dude. He just talks like he’s a regular guy, he don’t talk like he’s trying to recruit me all the time. Coach Brumbaugh, he’s real chill. It’s his first — I think it’s his first year in recruiting, so I ain’t going to expect a lot from him because it is kind of new to him. And then Coach Roc, he’s a real chill dude. He calls or whenever he texts me it’s just to see how I’m doing.”"
With an obvious need at the edge position in the 2023 class with Derick Hall and Eku Leota on their way out, the possibility of early playing time may be enough to get the in-state recruit to commit to Auburn football.
