Former Auburn football QB Bo Nix will perhaps be entering his final season at the collegiate level before taking to the NFL in the 2023 draft. Fresh off his transfer to Oregon, Nix has the chance to excel in a conference with far less defensive talent on his way to building an NFL-worthy resume.

As it stands, Nix could be a late-round draft pick in the vein of Skylar Thompson from Kansas State. Thompson was selected with the 247th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft’s seventh-round this past April.

The Dolphins picked Thompson as insurance for stop-gap backup Teddy Bridgewater, as well as former Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa. Is it possible that Nix is picked by Miami in a similar capacity, or even with the chance of usurping the former championship Crimson Tide signal-caller?

Well, NFL Mocks’ John Blair thinks the former Auburn football star could be a great fit in Mike McDaniel’s offense:

"“When projecting Bo Nix to the NFL he will need to go to the right system where his skill set can be used properly. One team who could make sense is the Miami Dolphins. Nix would fit well in Mike McDaniel offense since it loves to get the quarterback outside of the pocket and can limit the amount of full-field reads the quarterback needs to make. The Dolphins could also be in the quarterback market next year if Tua Tagovailoa doesn’t show the promise that made him the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.”"

Former Auburn football QB Bo Nix can elevate his draft stock to be a first or second day NFL Draft pick in 2022

After thriving in the SEC freshman year under Kenny Dillingham, Nix can rely on the ‘Auburn football is a disaster’ storyline national talking heads will surely spew recklessly.

Now back with the OC he meshed with best on the Plains in Eugene, Nix has the chance to elevate his draft stock to become a first-rounder, or at worst, a day two selection in 2023.
