The Auburn football coaching staff have been aggressively recruiting prospects from the class of 2023, working hard to make up for the somewhat disappointing results of the 2022 recruitment cycle. With new coaches on board and the staff ready to go for head coach Bryan Harsin’s second season on the Plains, recruiting has become a top priority in addition to readying the current roster for the fall.

Throughout the 2023 recruiting cycle, Harsin and his coaches have been steadily pursuing high-level recruits, even if they have already given verbal commitments to other schools. Auburn football coaches have been working to flip multiple prospects, including Isaiah Nixon (UCF) and Lamar Seymore (Miami) in addition to several Georgia commits.

The Tigers have recently been pushing hard for UGA offensive line commit Bo Hughley, who is ranked as #90 overall prospect and the #11 offensive tackle in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #5 recruit out of the state of Georgia.

Over the weekend, Hughley spent time on the Plains for an official visit with Auburn football, getting the chance to see the facilities up close and spend time with the coaching staff and the current players. Although he remains committed to the Dawgs, Hughley admitted that his visit to Auburn definitely had an impact on his final decision, per Auburn Live:

"“Auburn’s been in my top 5, it did push them up, I won’t lie,” Hughley said. “It gave me something to think about. I still feel good about Georgia.”"

As has been a theme with recruiting the class of 2023, the relationships between Hughley and the coaching staff are what keep the OT coming back to Auburn. Not only is he close with Director of Player Personnel Steven Ruzic and offensive line coach Will Friend, but he has also bonded with head coach Bryan Harsin, as well.

An official visit to Georgia during the season is likely in the works, but Hughley also plans to return to Auburn next weekend for an unofficial visit. Although still committed to UGA, Auburn football is squarely in the mix to land Bo Hughley.
