Bryan Harsin, Gus Malzahn, Auburn athletes, and Tiger fans all had reason to celebrate Monday night as the baseball program punched its ticket to its sixth College World Series in school history with a rubber match victory over Oregon State.

The Tigers escaped Corvallis with a one-run victory with just three hits, edging the Beavers 4-3 in the Super Regionals’ deciding third game. OSU knocked off the Tigers on Sunday by the same score after AU picked up the series-opening victory Saturday night, 7-5.

Butch Thompson’s squad is now slated to take on Ole Miss Saturday at 6 pm central in the CWS opener. The Tigers and Rebels (along with Texas A&M and Arkansas) are two of the four SEC teams that make up the eight-team CWS field.

Here were the kudos doled out by the likes of Bryan Harsin, Gus Malzahn, AU athletes, and Tiger fans:

2022’s College World Series will feature Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Stanford.

The top team for most of 2022, Tennessee, was bounced following a regular season in which they were the only team with single-digit losses.
