Auburn Game Tonight: Auburn vs Ole Miss Odds, Prediction for College Baseball June 18th
Auburn baseball begins its quest for its first College World Series in program history on Saturday night against the Ole Miss Rebels at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
The Tigers come in riding high off a Super Regionals series win in Corvallis, Oregon against the Oregon State Beavers, one that saw AU closer Blake Burkhalter throw two shutout innings with one hit and three strikeouts to shut things down in the eighth and ninth.
AU now takes on Ole Miss in their first College World Series game, having already knocked beaten twice during the regular season when the Rebels were the No. 1 ranked team in the country by a 33-27 run differential.
Auburn baseball ace Joseph Gonzalez will be the first Tiger to take the mound in Omaha. Gonzales holds a 7-3 record to go along with a 2.95 ERA in 2022. He is the AU leader in wins, innings pitched (73.1) and strikeouts (47), and owns the lowest ERA on the staff. Ole Miss will counter with their own ace, Dylan DeLucia. Like Gonzales for the Tigers, DeLucia owns the Rebels’ high-mark for wins and innings pitched.
The Rebels have dominated NCAAB Tournament play thus far, owning a 5-0 record after crushing Super Regionals host Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg by a combined 15-0 mark last weekend, knocking off Miami and Arizona (twice) by a 31-11 difference during Regional Round play.
Can Auburn stop the red-hot Rebs in their track, or will Ole Miss continue to role at the expense of Butch Thompson’s Tigers?
Fly War Eagle has your odds and a prediction for the June 18th College World Series matchup:
Auburn baseball vs Ole Miss Line
Auburn is a +104 underdog while Ole Miss moneyline is -128. The over/under run total is set at 9.5.
Auburn vs Ole Miss prediction
Truthfully, the Ole Miss bats are too hot to predict an outright victory. What’s more likely is one, or both, of the two lineups to snap and send this headed towards the over.
