Auburn football: LSU joins recruiting battle for QB Brock Glenn
While Auburn football may be loaded up with quarterbacks for the 2022 season, the staff is working hard to secure a top QB recruit for the class of 2023. Last year, head coach Bryan Harsin spent time recruiting Holden Geriner, the 4-star QB commit from the class of 2022, and this year he has focused his attention on Brock Glenn.
4-star QB Brock Glenn has been at the top of the board for the Tigers during this recruiting cycle, and has been considered the leader in Glenn’s recruitment for awhile. However, as his recruitment winds down, other programs are also making a big push for the Tennessee native.
The #18 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2023, Glenn has narrowed his list down to five schools in Auburn football, TCU, Ohio State, Florida State, and LSU, who extended an offer just four days ago on June 25. According to On3 Sports, the offer from Brian Kelly and the Bayou Bengals caught Glenn’s attention:
"“LSU is a big-time SEC program with history. It is a great school with a great staff. I know LSU is an established program with top coaches, so now it is about building relationships. That is what I will work on after this event.”"
The NCAA recruiting dead period officially began on June 27 and will last until July 24, and Glenn plans to make his commitment as soon as possible, so his evaluation of LSU is likely to come just from Zoom meetings. Glenn told On3 Sports he would wait and take a visit to Baton Rouge in late July if he feels it is necessary, but he wants to commit as soon as he feels ready.
When it comes to choosing the best fit, Glenn intends to sit down with his family and discuss his overall fit at each of his top schools and where he would be happiest with or without football. The recruitment will likely go down to the wire with Brock Glenn, but the Tigers are definitely in a good spot with the quarterback.
