COMMITTING TODAY: Auburn football target 4-star DL Keldric Faulk
The Auburn football coaching staff has kicked off July with a huge boost to recruiting momentum. On July 1, 4-star Montgomery running back Jeremiah Cobb officially committed to the Tigers, choosing Auburn over Clemson and Tennessee.
Next, 4-star Phenix City wide receiver Karmello English followed suit on July 4th, committing to the Tigers over Kentucky and Michigan despite some panic that his pushed-back commitment date meant he would not end up on the Plains. In just a few short days, head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff added two major in-state recruits to the team.
Today, the Tigers could add their third recruit in the month of July–and their third in-state prospect–to the 2023 roster in 4-star edge Keldric Faulk. From Highland Home, AL, Faulk is ranked as the #84 overall prospect and the #9 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023, and is the #11 recruit out of the state of Alabama.
Faulk’s recruitment is coming all the way down to the wire, as his final decision could end up being in favor of any one of his top schools: Auburn, Florida, Clemson, and Florida State. He will make his announcement at 11:00 a.m. central time.
Faulk officially visited all four of his top schools during the month of June, but his relationship with Auburn football coaches has stuck out to him during the recruitment process, per Auburn Live, especially defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh, edge coach Roc Bellantoni, and associate head coach Zac Etheridge.
Even so, most sources seem to believe that Florida State is the school to beat for Faulk. The edge has not yet revealed his final decision to any school, and will wait to do so until right before his public announcement. Faulk is a huge need for the Tigers, but we will have to wait and see where he chooses to begin his collegiate career.
