So far during the month of July, the Auburn football coaching staff has secured two new commits from the recruiting class of 2023 in 4-star wide receiver Karmello English and 4-star running back Jeremiah Cobb.

Both prospects were big wins for the coaching staff as far as adding needed talent and winning recruiting battles for two top in-state athletes. The Tigers missed out on 4-star edge Keldric Faulk’s commitment as he chose Florida State over Auburn and Clemson yesterday, but today another Tiger could join the 2023 roster.

Today, 4-star cornerback Avery Stuart will announce where he will play college ball, choosing between Auburn football, Florida State, and Kentucky. Stuart is ranked as the #197 overall prospect and the #12 safety in the recruiting class of 2023, and he is the #16 recruit out of the state of Alabama.

Like Faulk, it seems that Stuart is trending towards Florida State, and the Montgomery native even retweeted news about Faulk’s commitment to the Seminoles on Twitter yesterday. However, according to Auburn Live, Stuart is very high on the Tigers’ coaching staff:

"“I’ve visited auburn a couple of times and coach (Zac) Etheridge treated me like family. It’s a great school, with a great program. You can tell that coach (Bryan) Harsin is trying to build something there.”"

Should Stuart commit to Auburn football, he would become the highest-ranked member of the 2023 roster as well as the fourth in-state prospect for the Tigers so far. It would be a tough blow to the Tigers’ recruiting to lose two in-state recruits in as many days to Florida State, but at least Auburn does have one safety on the 2023 roster in 4-star Terrance Love.

Look out for 4-star safety Avery Stuart’s official decision this morning at 9:00 a.m.
