Auburn star-turned No. 3 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft Jabari Smith, along with fellow Houston Rockets rookies Tari Eason (LSU) and TyTy Washington (Kentucky), took to the Houston Astros game Tuesday night to cross-promote their fellow H-Town professional sports franchise during their matchup against the Kansas City Royals.

The Astros picked up a 9-7 victory at Minute Maid Park, but their mascot Orbit took a massive L when Smith said that Auburn’s mascot Aubie the Tiger was better than the anthropomorphic space alien.

Of course, Aubie is a 10x national champion mascot and has won that award more times than any other mascot in the history of handing out awards to athletes bearing the likeness of their school’s symbol. Aubie is objectively better than any other mascot walking, flying, slithering, or otherwise moving in any fashion around this planet.

Still, Jabari Smith did Orbit dirty in his home stadium by pointing out that obvious fact:

Auburn fans ate up that level of Plains pride on display even in Smith’s new home-city:

There’s been no comment from Orbit on how he is handling his third-degree burns from Smith’s comments Tuesday night.

Evidently, even though Jabari Smith is currently a Houston Rocket, he’ll always be an Auburn Tiger first and foremost.
