In speaking of the newest Auburn football hire for their GM, Director of Football Scouting and Development role, NFL Network reporter said that Drew Fabianich is ‘making a move to big-time college football’.

Fabianich, to his credit, seems to understand the impact his hiring will have on not just the organization, but on the kids he recruits and even their families, saying to CowboysSI.com that he is ‘excited to now work to make an impact on kids, families, and football at Auburn’.

Rapoport’s tweet revealed that Fabianich, the 18-year veteran with the Dallas Cowboys franchise, had several other offers besides Auburn on the table:

"Long-time Cowboys National Scout Drew Fabianich is making a move to big-time college football. He accepted the job of General Manager and Director of Football Scouting and Development for Auburn Football, source said. With several NFL opportunities, Fabianich opts for college.”"

Drew Fabianich and Ike Hilliard clearly believe in Bryan Harsin

Unless Drew Fabianich and Ike Hilliard were given insider information on what the Auburn football program plans to do to replace Bryan Harsin should his second year be as disappointing as Year 1, the two longstanding respected NFL names are signing on with full confidence in what Harsin can accomplish from this point forward.

The Tigers face somewhat of a make-or-break season with AU AD Allen Greene’s contract expiring in January and with Harsin being on the hot seat following the team’s first losing season since the Gene Chizik era. With proven NFL names brought in to help with recruiting, Harsin and co. simply need to focus on the on-field results — something Fly War Eagle will preach until we’re (orange and) blue in the face.
