The NCAA dead period is still underway, but the Auburn football coaching staff has not let up on the gas when it comes to recruiting the class of 2023. The current focus? Building a strong visitor list for the Big Cat Weekend recruiting event at the end of the month.

3-star in-state offensive lineman Vysen Lang cut down his list of programs to just six schools, and included Auburn football alongside Georgia, LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas. Being from Pike Road, Lang’s home is under an hour away from the Plains, and the Tigers would love to land a recruit from their own backyard.

Not only did Lang include Auburn in his top six, but he has also scheduled an upcoming visit. While the OL has visited campus several times, most recently in June, he has confirmed that he will be on the Plains for Big Cat Weekend at the end of the month.

Although the 247 Crystal Ball currently predicts that Arkansas will win the commitment of the in-state offensive lineman, Auburn remains in the race due to the sense of home it gives Lang, per Auburn Live:

"“Auburn’s basically a school that I would feel like a hometown hero,” Lang told On3. “Basically 30 minutes from where I live, and would make me feel like I’m still at home. And I could stay close to home, and play at Auburn in great environment and atmosphere.”"

Vysen Lang is ranked as the #576 overall prospect and the #47 offensive tackle in the recruiting class of 2023, and is the #25 recruit out of the state of Alabama. After the summer, Lang has three official visits scheduled during the football season.

He will first visit Texas on September 10 for their game against Alabama, and follow it up with a September 24 game at Tennessee when the Vols take on Florida. Finally, he will journey to Arkansas on September 30 for their matchup against the Crimson Tide.
