Auburn football did not land its big program-changing target, Brock Glenn — more than losing him to Mike Norvell and his Florida State coaching staff after “247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong said that Florida State is “looking really good” for Glenn following the de-commitment of quarterback Chris Parson on the “Wiltfong Whiparound” podcast.

While that stings for the Class of 2023, which has four recruits (WR Karmello English, RB Jeremiah Cobb, DB Terrance Love, and OL Bradyn Joiner) committed so far, the news is not all of the negative variety on the recruiting trail. Auburn football has a projected 97.3% prediction to land the No. 10 QB recruit in the Class of 2024, Langston Hughes High School’s Prentiss ‘Air’ Noland according to On3Sports.

Noland has been heavily recruited by Miami and West Virginia as well, with UCF, UAB, and Georgia Tech all offering him to no avail, but it appears as though Bryan Harsin and co. have been able to convince the six-foot-two Noland to play on the Plains.

Who will be the starting QB in 2024 for Auburn football?

Robby Ashford has the eligibility to be the starter in 2024, but it’s unknown if he’ll want to continue to sit and wait for his chance after not appearing in a game for the Oregon Ducks the past two seasons. Holden Geriner will be in his third year with the Tigers (barring a transfer) and could well work his way into the conversation to start for Auburn in 2024.

Other than that, Zach Calzada and T.J. Finley will be gone. Where they’d go is anyone’s guess. Those chapters still need to be written.

Noland’s addition is obviously one that won’t affect the program for several seasons, but landing a 4-star QB after losing one whose first name is literally Auburn gives the team a critical win after suffering five straight to end last season and then taking a big L in the form of February’s inquiry into Bryan Harsin.
