Auburn football: This in-state DB could commit in early August
With only four commits total on Auburn football’s class of 2023 roster, the coaching staff is likely hoping things heat up considerably after the NCAA recruiting dead period, which ends on July 27 and is almost immediately followed by the Tigers’ biggest recruiting event of the summer, Big Cat Weekend.
While many top prospects in the classes of both 2023 and 2024 will be attending the event on July 30, the Tigers are closing in on a lesser-known target with big talent. Jacorius Hart is a cornerback from the small town of Loachapoka, just down the road from Auburn.
Though Hart is not ranked on 247 Sports, his speed has gotten him noticed by recruiters as he runs the 40-yard dash in under 4.5 seconds. He has accumulated over 20 offers from programs around the country, including Mississippi State, Duke, Missouri, Kansas State, and Vanderbilt. However, Hart’s recruitment will likely come down to two: Auburn football and UCF.
According to Auburn Live, Hart has visited UCF once and Auburn twice this summer, and he will make his official decision following two official visits to the Orlando and the Plains scheduled for later this month. After visiting UCF on July 27, Hart will attend Big Cat Weekend. As for a final decision, we can expect to hear in early August:
"“I will announce either the first week of August or the second week of August,” Hart said. “I want to announce my commitment at my school with my family, friends and teammates. We start school Aug. 8, so it will probably be sometime around then.”"
With his size and speed, Jacorious Hart could be a hidden gem in the recruiting class of 2023, and Auburn football could absolutely use another addition to their roster. Hopefully Hart’s frequent visits and proximity to the Plains will give the Tigers a leg up in his recruitment.
