2022 figures to be an unpredictable year for Auburn football since predictions on the matter from the national media tend to err on the negative side for narrative’s sake. The Tigers had a rough offseason, but the inquiry–one the AU board of trustees denies–didn’t work*.

Oregon-to-Auburn football transfer Jayson Jones

Jayson Jones wasn’t getting opportunities in Eugene, so like some fellow teammates we’ll get to later, he took to the Plains in search of one — though it won’t be as highlighted as a role by the national media as Bo Nix’s in Oregon. Nix could be USC’s Caleb Williams’ main Pac-12 competition for top QB in the conference.

Then again, Auburn could end up playing in more meaningful games than the Ducks-bound side of the ‘trade’ and prove pivotal at any moment of it. Jones is a big-play hunter in the backfield and will get to the carrier plenty throughout the season.
