TBT: Team War Ready vs. Bucketneers Odds, Prediction, and TV Channel
Team War Ready picked up its first TBT victory this past Sunday when they defeated WoCo Showtime, Wofford College’s alumni squad, during the opening round of the 2022 rendition of ‘The Basketball Tournament,’ and now moves on to take on the team that eliminated them last year.
The Bucketneers cruised to a 77-50 win over War Ready last July off the strength of Tray Boyd III’s game-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting (5-6 from three) and Justin Tuoyo’s 14 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Neither player will be returning to the TBT this year.
Tevin Glass, who went for 15 points (6-of-8 from the field), three steals, and two rebounds will be, however.
Bucketneers head coach Joe Hugley, who was on the record-setting 30-4 team in 2019-20 that swept the SoCon regular season and tournament championships, believes Team War Ready will have revenge on their minds from last season:
"“It’s on the fore front of their brain what we did to them last year. They’re going to come ready to go. This win will mean more to them than the one they just had. We got to come ready to take that punch regardless with how they come at us.”"
Fly War Eagle has the odds for Team War Ready’s second 2022 TBT matchup while laying down a prediction for the Tuesday night ESPN3-televised matchup:
Team War Ready vs Bucketneers Line
Team War Ready are 2.5-point underdogs against the Bucketneers. Team War Ready is a +110 underdog, with the Bucketneers moneyline set at -140. The over/under for the game has been placed at 147.5 points.
Team War Ready vs Bucketneers Line
The Bucketneers proved difficult to contain last season as an unheralded No. 12 seed that went on to win two games including the upset over Team War Ready and just put up 83 on Team Fully Loaded this past Sunday.
They’ll be a tough out, but if the Tigers adjacent TBT squad can’t beat the Bucketneers, they’ll likely combine to score quite a bit of points in the process.
