Auburn basketball overreaction No. 2: Allen Flanigan looks healthy again — and dangerous

The step-back fourth-quarter 3-pointer that gave the Tigers their 98th, 99th, and 100th points should have given everyone in the Auburn family a mile wide smile on their face, as well as hope that he’s fully recovered from his Achilles issues.

Flanigan never looked himself last season, but it appears as though his mobility, athleticism, and explosiveness is back.

Auburn basketball overreaction No. 3: Yohan Traore looks like a potential star

Yohan Traore may not have the face-up isolation killer instincts that Jabari Smith does, he may actually be a better fit for the Auburn offense. As more of an airborne athlete that finishes more at the rim than beyond the arc, Traore will require the ball in his hands less, but could still end up scoring just as much.

His double-clutch 180 dunk with six seconds left was the exclamation point on his Tigers debut in which he scored 20 points and corralled eight rebounds. Don’t expect another No. 3 overall NBA Draft pick from the power forward spot, but don’t write off a better fit ultimately with Traore.
