Former Auburn Tigers QB Jarrett Stidham made his presence felt during his first appearance under center for the Las Vegas Raiders, who he was traded to earlier in the offseason, during the team’s NFL Hall of Fame Game preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Stidham collected over 100 all-purpose yards in his first showing in Raiders black and silver including a second-quarter touchdown in Jacksonville’s red zone via a 12-yard quarterback scramble.

Overall he completed 8/14 passes in the first half, including a 31-yard bomb off the bat to Keelan Cole on his first attempt — which then saw Georgia product and the Jaguars’ No. 1 overall 2022 NFL Draft pick Travon Walker commit a roughing the passer penalty to further move the chains.

Jarrett Stidham could be traded again this offseason for a late-round draft pick

Apparently Jarrett Stidham shouldn’t get too comfortable in his new ‘Sin City’ digs, as the Raiders could look to move him this offseason. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox cited Derek Carr’s durability as a reason why the team only needing two QBs could mean Stidham could be the odd man out behind Carr and Nick Mullens:

"“Given Carr’s history of durability, Las Vegas may not be inclined to keep more than two quarterbacks on its active roster this season. If that’s the case, flipping Stidham for a late pick would make a ton of sense. A sixth- or seventh-round selection isn’t going to change the course of the franchise, but it’s solid value for a signal-caller who may be destined for the practice squad—and thus eligible to be signed by another team—anyway.”"

Stidham will need a productive preseason to convince Raiders brass that he’s worth keeping around in the event Carr can’t take the field at any point in 2022.
