Auburn football WR Shedrick Jackson on Koy Moore: ‘He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve seen’
The Auburn football WR room is not one lacking respect for each other, as fifth-year super senior Shedrick Jackson had some high praise for LSU transfer Koy Moore, who will be entering his third season in the SEC.
Jackson had a breakout year in 2021, catching 40 passes for 527 yards and a touchdown. The South Carolina game was his standout performance — he hauled in seven catches for 111 yards. That followed up his second-best Power Five performance against Mississippi State, going for 72 yards on three receptions.
Moore, on the other hand, took a backseat in Ed Orgeron’s offense in 2021 after catching 22 passes in 2020. He has yet to score a touchdown in collegiate competition, but that could soon change in 2022.
Jackson was highly complimentary of the SEC newcomer, honing in on Moore’s work ethic. Here were Jackson’s comments:
"“He works hard. He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve seen outside of team activities and stuff like that. When I’m in there, he’s in there, always catching balls and working with the quarterbacks, stuff like that. He’ll be good.”"
Auburn football needs several receivers to step up and break out in 2022
With Kobe Hudson and Demetris Robertson gone, and Shaun Shivers no longer a backfield option in the passing game, Auburn football will need several Tigers receivers to step up and show that they can make big plays in big games.
With Zach Calzada likely to be named the starter in the coming weeks, the lack of established options isn’t the end of the world. Since Calzada wasn’t on the Plains last season, no one has an established rapport with anyone besides T.J. Finley, who likely will start the season as QB3 behind Calzada and Robby Ashford in specially designed packages.
Now is the time to make a name for yourself if you are an Auburn receiver, and Shedrick Jackson clearly sees Koy Moore as someone capable of doing so.
