Many Auburn football fans will always have an eye on the happenings of Bo Nix as he moves on from the Plains to the Pac-12, but Week 1 of the 2022 college football season will be of particular interest to Tiger fans.
Nix’s Oregon Ducks will be traveling to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to take on the Georgia Bulldogs in what should be deep enemy territory in Atlanta. It’ll be the first competitive game Nix has ever played representing a team outside of Alabama.
In the build-up to this featured Week 1 matchup against the defending national champions, Georgia HC Kirby Smart has downplayed whoever the Ducks signal-caller will be — whether it’s Nix or freshman Ty Thompson. He even implied that the Dawgs defense could end up seeing both take snaps this Saturday.
Auburn football fans took to Twitter to react to the news that their three-year starter-turned west coast transfer will be facing UGA for the fourth time in his career even if it isn’t in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry game:
Bo is going to be in NYC come December I fear

still can't believe Bo Nix left Auburn, moved 2,600 miles away to Oregon..... and has to come all the way back to Atlanta to play Georgia in his first game.

he'll never truly escape. https://t.co/7aJxKmSzto
Former Auburn football QB Bo Nix has edge over Ty Thompson in Week 1
There’s been a ton of movement in the Oregon QB room over the offseason, just like there’s been on the Plains. Ty Thompson was seen as the presumed starter before the spring game, but Bo Nix has taken over the mantle of the likely starter since.
Nix has earned it with an impressive spring, but he also earned it with all the hits he took against Georgia in his three years with Auburn football.
