It didn’t take long for former Auburn football QB Bo Nix to throw his first interception as the starting quarterback for the Oregon Ducks, with Georgia freshman safety Malaki Starks making a spectacular leaping grab in the second drive of the game for Nix and co.

Nix’s first drive resulted in a punt after a dropped pass and poorly thrown ball that bounced off a Ducks receiver’s helmet. His second drive had potential before his first deep-ball for the Ducks was taken back the other way.

Oregon ended the first quarter trailing the Bulldogs by a touchdown, which was scored by Bulldogs tight end Ladd McConkey on a reverse. Stetson Bennett looked brilliant, moving well out of the pocket and avoiding the Oregon pass rush. He finished with 154 yards on 11/13 passing.

Nix ended up 5/8 in the first quarter, completing a few passes in the flats but also throwing the ball away to the Dawgs defense. He also had a six-yard rush after calling his own number in a designed run play.

Twitter’s response to former Auburn football QB Bo Nix’s interception

Here were some of the most notable reactions to the Ducks debut of ‘Bo Pix,’ as the Bammers say:

It’ll only get easier for Nix after facing the defending national champions in Week 1.
