Auburn football: Tigers Twitter reacts to orange uniform teaser
Week 3 will be the biggest so far for the Auburn football team in head coach Bryan Harsin’s second year on the Plains. Last season, the Tigers made the trip up to State College and Happy Valley to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in their house.
Penn State showed out, marking their matchup with Auburn as their annual White Out Game. It was a close contest, but in the end the Nittany Lions pulled away with a victory at home. Now, a rematch will ensue at Jordan-Hare Stadium in a game dubbed as All Orange.
Most fans wore orange to Happy Valley last season in an attempt to disrupt the White Out, so it’s no surprise fans are being asked to wear orange this weekend. However, the real buzz is surrounding what color the Auburn football team will wear.
The Tigers broke out white face masks for the Penn State matchup last year, and it has been confirmed that they will wear orange face masks this weekend. But just how orange will things get? The team has teased photos of orange cleats and an orange AU logo, and some players have changed their social media profile pictures to show themselves in orange jerseys.
Earlier this week, team captain Derick Hall made it clear that he would love the Tigers to run out of the tunnel in orange jerseys, and most of Auburn Twitter has gone nuts over the prospect of orange jerseys:
The last time the Auburn football team donned orange jerseys it was back in the eighties, and it would truly be making a statement to take the field in something other than the traditional blue home jerseys. At this point, it’s a waiting game.
