Auburn football: Another SEC school going after Bo Hughley
Throughout this recruiting cycle, the Auburn football coaching staff has been pushing hard to land the recruits that they want on the roster, even if those recruits have already given a verbal pledge to another program.
For some of the recruits that are already committed to other programs, it seems as though they like everything about Auburn, but they want to be assured that the team will be successful and that the coaching staff that head coach Bryan Harsin has built will be around by the time they get to college.
This weekend, the Tigers host the Penn State Nittany Lions in what may be the biggest home game of the season, and the recruiting visitor list is loaded with high-profile prospects. One of this weekend’s visitors is one of Auburn football’s most wanted flips, 4-star Bo Hughley.
The massive offensive lineman has been committed to Georgia for awhile now, but seemed incredibly close to committing to Auburn when he visited the Plains for Big Cat Weekend. The UGA staff got back on Hughley and he didn’t flip, but the more time he spends at Auburn, the better.
However, now it seems that UGA isn’t the only SEC program the Tigers have to worry about recruiting Hughley. He told Auburn Live that the Bayou Bengals have cracked their way into his recruitment, and that LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis is working to get him on campus. Hughley said he is “anxious” to make a trip to Baton Rouge.
Working in Auburn football’s favor is the fact that Hughley’s current teammate, Terrance Love, is committed to the Tigers and is working to flip him to the orange and blue. While it may be tough for the Tigers to flip Bo Hughley, this is a recruitment that most definitely will go down to the wire.
