Recent Auburn football de-commit Karmello English, a 4-star receiver out of Central High School in Phenix City, didn’t wait even wait until Tiger fans made it to sulk at Skybar and Southeastern before trolling the fanbase for their recent behavior towards his decision not to move forward with AU.

English originally chose Auburn football over Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, and the Tigers’ most recent opponent, Penn State, but his recent tweet may suggest that the Lee County Class of 2023 Power Five prospect may have been swayed the other way today.

English had a simple yet powerful slogan from the team on the winning side of Saturday’s 41-12 slaughter in the moments following Auburn’s awful loss in a since-deleted tweet that was shared by the On3 Recruits Twitter page:

Auburn football is in dire straights this season

Auburn football had the same home-field advantage Purdue had going into their own Big Ten clash with Penn State–correct that, there is not supposed to be a better home-field advantage than Jordan-Hare Stadium anywhere in the country, West Lafayette included–but yet lost by four scores compared to the last-second triumph for the Boilermakers back in Week 1.

They don’t have a clear QB1, the offensive line isn’t getting anywhere near enough push to open things up for their RB duo of Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter, the secondary is susceptible to big plays, and even the run defense was run over on Saturday to the tune of 245 rushing yards, 124 of which came from Nicholas Singleton on just 10 carries.

It’s just one game. The Georgia loss didn’t set the team back last year, with the Tigers winning their next two against Arkansas and Ole Miss. Still, the level of demoralization in that stadium today shows just how much regression Auburn football has had since last year’s trip to Happy Valley. AU is undeniably in dire straights, and it needs to beat both the Mizzou and LSU Tigers to avoid things going even further south.
