Today, the Auburn football team will take on their second SEC opponent of the 2022 season under the lights in Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game bears a lot of weight for the home team, in terms of SEC standings but also in terms of head coach Bryan Harsin keeping his job.

Although a loss tonight could seal the fate of Harsin and send him into the sunset and off of the Plains, the coaching staff is still diligently working to recruit the class of 2023, something that is still not going too well for the Tigers.

One recruit visiting this weekend could be a potential flip candidate. 3-star Arion Carter out of Smyrna, TN is being recruited by Tigers’ LB coach Christian Robinson as a linebacker, but is categorized on 247 Sports as an ATH who plays both running back and linebacker.. He is the #37 ATH in the recruiting class of 2023 and the #12 player out of the state of Tennessee, and has been committed to Memphis since July.

According to Auburn Undercover, Carter was a relatively unknown recruit until just recently, and has been receiving loads of offers from multiple Power 5 programs including Alabama, Oregon, USC, Tennessee, and Ole Miss in addition to Auburn football. The LB was meant to visit the Plains for the Penn State matchup, but thankfully ended up taking a trip to Tuscaloosa instead, where he earned an offer from the Tide.

While Carter will make his way to the Plains firmly committed to Memphis, it seems likely that he will flip–whether it be to Auburn or another program–with the caliber of offers that have been pouring in as of late.

If Bryan Harsin’s Tigers can finally show some improvement, a team win and a classic night game atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium could be enough to change Arion Carter’s mind.
