Over halfway through the 2022 season, the Auburn football team is not having the successful year that many hoped for in head coach Bryan Harsin’s second season on the Plains. After three early wins, none of which came too easily for the Tigers, they’re heading into the next matchup on a three-game losing streak.

While the team hasn’t been able to pull off many wins so far, there have been improvements week-to-week, and the biggest win of all in the Tigers’ current state is that the players themselves are still determined to keep fighting and have not given up on their season.

This weekend is incredibly important for this Auburn football team, for it carries a lot of weight in getting the Tigers to a bowl game. With only three wins, and only five games left to get three more wins and become bowl eligible, beating Arkansas this weekend at home is a must.

According to Bryan Harsin, the little improvements are the motivation for the team to keep working, and he insists that the team has room to continue improving based on the effort they are giving off the field, per Auburn Live:

"“When you don’t have effort, when guys quit, when guys give up, that’s a problem. That’s bigger than a scheme, a coaching point, a drill — you don’t see that. You see guys digging in,” Harsin said. “When you have effort and guys trying really hard, and they practice like they have, there’s a lot of potential. Guys see that, too. They see it. When you’re sitting there and seeing that you’re closer, it makes you want to prepare harder. Every guy on this team has potential.”"

While Harsin did admit that the team has a long way to go, he emphasized that the potential on this team is great, and that they have the opportunity to turn things around in their last five games.
